Custom Themes

Personalise Clearminutes with themes beyond the default Light mode. Pro unlocks three additional themes designed for different lighting conditions and preferences.

Theme persists across restarts

Your theme choice is saved and applied every time you open Clearminutes. It also prevents a "flash of light theme" during app startup — Pro users get a blocking script that applies the dark theme before the UI renders.

Theme Previews

Light (Free)

Clean white background with dark text. The default theme optimised for daylight use and readability.

Dark (Pro)

Dark grey background with light text. Easier on the eyes in low-light environments. Matches the appearance of Dark Mode in macOS and Windows.

Dracula (Pro)

Deep purple background with vibrant green, pink, and orange accents. Based on the popular Dracula theme colour palette. Ideal if you use Dracula in your code editor or terminal.

Midnight (Pro)

Near-black background with subtle blue-grey text. The darkest theme, designed for OLED displays and minimal eye strain in dark rooms. Maximum contrast between background and text without the harshness of pure black.

Troubleshooting

Theme reverted to Light after restart

  • Verify your Pro subscription is active (Settings → Account)
  • Clearminutes falls back to Light if it can't verify Pro status at startup
  • Check your internet connection — Pro status is verified online

"Flash of light theme" on app launch

  • This can happen on the free plan (Light theme is the default)
  • Pro users should see their chosen theme immediately with no flash
  • If you see a flash on Pro, try restarting the app or re-activating your subscription

Colours look wrong

  • Make sure you're running the latest version of Clearminutes
  • Try switching to a different theme and back
  • Restart the app if colours don't update immediately
